CES CHALLENGES DT CARD............Challenge 4

Good morning peeps. Gosh it seems ages since I've been on here, well its been a few days anyway lol. I've had such a hectic week my poor Natalie has been ill with vomiting......every half hour it was terrible....I've had a new washer & I think she wanted to test it out lol. Altho it is fab its the new LG 11kg washer, if you want a new washer get this its fab....oh & BIG lol, I need it in my household lol.
Anyway lets get on with the job in hand.....its Saturday so that can only mean 1 thing!!!!
Yes you got it......CES Challenge time!!!!
Challenge 4 this week & it was my turn to set the theme & the theme is.....
Baby Bonanza
Make any project as long as its for a baby, which means if you want to you can go all out on cuteness lol.
Here is my creation for the challenge this week....
I have made a card & mini exploding box. I've only ever done an exploding box once before & it using 12x12 card, this box however is made just using 1 piece of A4 card, how fab is that. It makes an excellent keepsake. There are a few piccies so please bear with me.

The papers are Webster's 'Lullaby Lane & Life's Portrait' but unfortunately have been discontinued (I'm not happy :-( however pop over to Crafty Emma's Store to check out the NEW Websters papers, they are gorgeous. The image of course is Hanglar & Stanglar, I love these guys nearly as much as Magnolia but they are so hard to get, mine are from Ebay. For the card I actually used a blank card from Crafty Emma's, the Dew Drops are also from there. All edges have been inked with 'Sage' & 'Tumbled Glass' distress ink.

Here is the card lying down to show you the 3D element of it.

Close-up of image which is coloured with Promarkers on smooth white card also from Crafty Emma's Store this is excellent card for Promarkers & Copics. The card its layered on is cut out using a nestie in my Cuttlebug. In the corner I made a bow with some lush baby ribbon & hung an acrylic dummy from it. The ribbon I got from Ebay as to the dummy.

Here is the mini exploding box made using A4 card & the same Websters papers as the card & everything inked with the same inks. The lid I stuck some pretty lace ribbon on & attached mini safety pins & Dewdrops on each side of the box to decorate a little.

Here is the box opened. I attached a small round box inside which is glued down, its to put baby's 1st tooth in or 1st curl....a keepsake to treasure. I attached the same lace to the lid of this box & attached a 25mm blue rose from Wild Orchid. The box itself I painted using weathered wood crackle paint.

The card I put 2 rub-ons lightly on rubbed distress ink all over then removed the rub-ons to leave the words there. I think it gives a really nice effect & it gives me a reason to use my rub-ons which normally sit in their stand lol.
Pop on over to CES Challenge to check out all of the DT creations, the ladies have made some fabulous cards, they are gorgeous. Have a go at entering our challenge the winner gets this.....

My Minds Eye fabric brads & ribbons, these are totally gorgeous.

Card Drive for a VERY Special cause..........come join in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone its time for a new challenge over at Cowgirl Up & this week we have a very special 1 so we hope to get a LOT of entries, its not just a challenge but also a very worthwhile cause so stay tuned to find out more & PLEASE join in if you can, we would love to see you all there.
This week as most of you know we are making Crimbo cards for Soldiers, these guys put their lives at risk without question to defend their country, to defend us & at Christmas we should spare them an extra special thought. They cannot pop to their local supermarket or shop & buy a card for their loved ones, families or children, imagine the look on their families faces to receive a special HAND-MADE christmas card from their loved ones, their hero's......its priceless isn't it. So come on join in for this special card-drive. Now I really must stress the next point, the 1 thing we all love is to put lashings of glitter on our crimbo cards, I love that part but please DONT USE GLITTER on the cards for soldiers, part of their job is to try & remain invisable to the opposition....imagine if glitter fell off & onto their uniforms what it could cause....you dont want imagine do you, I know I dont!!
Here is my card for the drive & altho it was sooo hard to not use glitter I knew it will be worth it....

This is an Angel image from the Cowgirl Up Ranch & its called 'Say Your Prayers' which I thought was perfect for this card-drive, I've coloured the image in red & cream to give it a christmassy look & followed the sketch over at Sketch & Stash. The papers are from Crafty Emma's Store & they are Memory Box & called 'Spiceberry'....believe me these are absolutley gorgeous I'll be getting more of these!!! The sentiment is a stamp from my overgrowing collection & I put some red card through my cuttlebug in 1 of my snowflake folders. All the papers were inked with 'Firebrick' distress ink & then distressed with my tool. I then added an angel charm which says 'made for you' on the back & attached it to some beautiful organza ribbon from my stash. The poinsettia is from Wild Orchid

Here is a close-up of the gorgeous image. I have used Promarkers & Prisma pencils for the shading, which I am really enjoying doing at the mo I love combining the two.
Here is the inside. We want every1 to leave their cards blank DO NOT write inside them but you can put a sentiment inside if you wish. I layered up cream & red card & I then stamped this onto it in 'Firebrick' ink & then stamped 'with love' inside the heart. I just think it added a personal touch for them.
Well thats it from me except to plead with you all to join this challenge so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come along & join our special card-drive. Pop over to Cowgirl Up for more details. Our fabulous sponsors this week are Whiff Of Joy & Whimsy Stamps.
Dont miss this great card-drive....
Thankyou for staying through to the end I really do appreciate it so much, pop on over to the challenge & check out all the creation the fabulous girls from the DT did.
Thankyou all & big huge hugs to all of you, hope you like my card.

Lotsa of hugs Vicky xxx
